Success for WILD / WILD team at the Austrian State Prize for Design 2015
Our ongoing collaboration with client and namesake Wild Elektronik und Kunststoff GmbH & Co KG in Völkermarkt, Austria has begun to reap the fruits of success. The WILD Team of Markus Poßegger, Alexander Böhm, Wolfgang Wagner, Stefan Plasonig and our designers Marc Ruta and Tim Meier have received recognition through the 2015 Austrian Staatspreis für Design (Austrian National Prize for Design).
The design of the Biochemistry Analyzer, a fully automated laboratory analysis system, was selected by an international specialist jury for the award in September 2015. The Ministry of Economics, Family, and Youth in Arena21 in the Museum Quarter of Wien, chose it from 301 other submissions for three national prizes for product/ industrial design, consumer goods, and spatial design.
Today, intuitive laboratory operability demands professionalism and efficiency. The Analyzer’s user and processing areas are separated to ensure safer and simpler operation. A turntable allows direct access to samples that need to be processed, which is not possible with conventional devices. A camera system facilitates identification of sample containers to eliminate confusion. Overall the high-contrast design with its clean, clear-cut lines has helped to cut production time in half.
All award-winning, nominated, and selected projects were published in a catalog and are in the exhibition “Staatspreis Design 2015: Walk of Fame” at designforum Vienna from September 24 to October 31 2015 in the Museum Quarter. It will also be exhibited at designforum Styria from January 22 to February 27 2016, and at designforum Vorarlberg from March 9 to April 9, 2016.
